WE DID IT!

So, with only weeks to go until our year is up, last night, a wonderful customer and friend of ours made the total of our charity fundraising up to the grand total of £10,000!

The Rowans Hospice was chosen for a particular reason which is very close to our hearts here at abarbistro.
When we set out on this challenge almost 12 months ago, it really did seem like an impossible challenge. However, our customers and friends dug deep and really helped us reach our target.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, sponsored, purchased raffle tickets, entered our games, visited us at the beer festival, watched Jane abseil down the Spinnaker Tower, supported the journey of our Great South Run team Emma, Justyna & Jose and generally just supported a charity that we can look to as an inspiration of greatness when people are at their weakest.

We are continuing to raise money until the end of 2015 for this wonderful charity.

WE DID IT!

abar & camber wines do the great south run

emma (manager at abar) & jose (manager at camber wines) are taking part in the great south run to raise money for our chosen charity the rowans hospice.

they have set a colossal target of £2,000 as this is a massive task for both of them… not being runners (or photogenic)!

training started last month with a few pt sessions with luke newton from sweat southsea and lots of runs on the seafront.they have finally cracked the five mile mark last week but know they still have a long way to go!

please help us meet our target for such a great cause.

if you would like to sponsor us then please visit www.justgiving.com/joseandemma

this is not a joke….

so, cant believe i’m saying this, but on behalf of our rowans hospice fundraising- jose and emma have agreed to attempt the great south run 2015!

if there is something you should pay to see, it’s this.

their training has already begun and we will keep you posted on their progress…

Portsmouth Beer festival logo

so last weekend we had the privilege of working in the games room at the portsmouth beer festival on behalf of our rowans hospice charity fundraising.

just want to say a massive thanks to the staff that gave up their days off to volunteer and also to ben and the team for having us. we worked alongside samuelsfund raising money over the two day event-splitting the total between us!

thanks to everyone who played with us & donated. hoopla definitely is an addictive game!

£583 and the chance to try different ales all day and night made a pretty good abar school trip 😉

christmas charity

Firstly, we hope everyone has had a great first day of 2015!

Secondly,as most off you all know, we have been raffling and running a ‘guess the cork’ competition throughout December to raise money for The Rowans Hospice

The success of our Christmas raffle was outstanding and our New Years Raffle was great too!

The anticipation of making the correct guess of corks has kept everyone wondering.

In total the money we raised last month totalled £2629!!

Congrats to our New Years raffle winners & also to our guess the cork winner. The amount of corks was 265!.. So Sarah Marshall, your guess of 756 was abit steep 😉 Well done all and thanks again for all your donations and support.

Stay tuned for more events throughout 2015.
