a healthy ‘salturnative’

this week, we’ve taken a step -that we feel- is in the right direction. to remove salt from our tables.

don’t fear salt lovers; we have salt cellars at the ready it’s just that our food is prepared in our kitchens and seasoned with salt to enhance flavour.

however, in a bid to keep people that tiny bit healthier, we are trying to promote the decrease of ‘extra’ salt being added to your meals.

studies show that reducing the amount of salt people eat, even by small amounts, could reduce cases of heart disease, stroke and heart attacks.

let’s graduate!

this week (and next) is graduation week.

each year, we welcome the latest graduates and love celebrating their success!

why not come and celebrate with us….glass of fizz or just lunch in the sun?

we are booking up fast so make sure you give us a call 🙂

love a language

recently we have discovered that our staff are very talented and between them speak a range of different languages including mandarin, spanish, french, polish and chinese!

the reason we feel this is blog worthy is that if you have any friends or wish to entertain business associates that are not fluent in english, we can accommodate both you and them in their native tongue.

let us know if we can help when making a booking.

here come the vets!

we had the great, great pleasure of serving 50 american ww2 normandy veterans.

they were an absolute joy to meet and chat to and today they are on their way to normandy to continue what is set to be an incredible week of d-day’s 70th anniversary celebrations & rememberance.

monday kicked off what is set to be a busy week for portsmouth, with lots of celebrations taking place to salute these men; definately worth getting involved if you can!

bank holiday fun

well done richard, the lucky winner of the bank holiday raffle!

once again, great effort to all who entered and raised money for a charity we strongly support, seafarers.

that’s another jeroboam of rimauresq on it’s way to a new home! not sure how long it will last!

thank you to all who entered.

staggeringly good beer

we are very pleased to introduce our new bottled beer ‘staggersaurus’.

it is a produce we are all really excited to be bringing onto our bar; the main reason being that is made completely and only with natural ingredients sourced in portsmouth.

a couple of other reasons we love our new beer:

  • each beer is bottled by hand
  • the beer is bottle conditioned. this means it naturally carbonates in the bottle and is as close to a hand pumped beer as you can get. basically each bottle is like a mini barrel.
  • it is one of a very select few bottled beers that are approved by CAMRA, the campaign for real ale.

we are keen for all beer lovers to give it a try, as we love to support our own community and give a big thumbs up to joe and the team at staggeringly good beer!

bring on the summer!
